Mandala the rocks / impossibles

Project Description

Client:   Mandala Rocks

Location:   Uluwatu, Bali
Surface Area:  450 m2
Completion Date:   September 2018
Project Type: New build and villa renovation, Renovate Bali property, Renovate a villa

This luxurious beachfront property occupies one of Bali’s most renowned surf breaks and nestles at the foot of a scenic cliff in Uluwatu. Construct Bali worked with the exacting standards of a famous design company and the Mandala Group to renovate this iconic Bali property to an exceptionally high standard.

Renovating this villa included creating polished concrete balconies and terraces and renewing the pebble washed and terrazzo floors, installing designer terrazzo bathrooms with elegant fittings, tiling, and a complete renovation of the kitchen.

The new build aspect for this Bali villa was the addition of terraces, so each bedroom had a private view of the majestic waves of the Indian Ocean. If you want to renovate or extend your Bali villa, call the team at Construct Bali to find out more.

The Challenges

Access, access, access! Our team had to negotiate 75 steep steps hewn into the Uluwatu cliff face to complete our renovation project on this gorgeous Bali villa. Getting building materials to the site of the refurbishment was problematic, and we ended up using a system of pullies and pipes to get supplies onsite and rubbish offsite. Anyone who has visited this stunning Bali makeover will tell you it was well worth all the effort.

Villa Bima

Project Description

Client:   Villa Bima

Location:   Seminyak, Bali
Surface Area:  210 m2
Completion Date:   March 2020
Project Type: New build villa in Bali

The brief was for 2 modern luxury villas in the centre of Seminyak. The client wanted clean lines, spacious inside, local material features and able to rent easily.  We ended up constructing 2 villas next to each other one for rental and one for private use only. Both villas are approx 200m2 each over 2 floors.

Start to completion was 12 months and we had to work with neighbours so there were no problems with their guests whilst we were working. We used local materials in including andesite stone cladding, granite tiles, bangkirai decking, aluminium sliding doors and windows and sukabumi tiles in the pool to create a light, airy modern feel. This three bedroom pool villa in the middle of Seminyak is being rented already.

Villas Joju & Alit

Project Description

Location:   Berawa, Bali
Surface Area: 650 m2
Completion Date:   November 2018 / December 2018
Project type:   Luxury villa build in Bali

This project started as an SOS call from a client who had been let down by their building company and was hugely dissatisfied with the standard of the work. Villa Ben was supposed to be a luxury holiday home, which would double as an investment property in Bali, but the project turned into a nightmare.

This luxury villa build required some ingenuity and an accurate assessment of what was salvageable to keep the project financially viable. The first job Construct Bali needed to do was reinforce and underpin the structures with concrete and steel to ensure their integrity. The rest of the project was Construct Bali’s original work, which is always far more straightforward, although we love a challenge.

The project included both the roofs constructed from sirap (hardwood shingles) as well as a sukabumi tiled swimming pool, all electrics, and plumbing, the kitchen, hardwood doors and windows, rendering, plastering, and painting as well as granite and hardwood flooring and all the bathrooms. Construct Bali restored the client’s faith in builders in Bali and delivered a luxury villa perfect to reap the rewards of a lucrative rental market. If you are unhappy with your current contractor’s building work and want a second opinion, give Construct Bali a call. .

The Challenges

The challenge of this rebuild project was choosing what to build from scratch and what we could salvage through underpinning.

Villa Jade

Project Description

Client:   Private
Location:   Echo Beach, Canggu, Bali
Surface Area: 400 m2
Year Completed:   2018
Project type: Bali Villa Construction, luxury villa build, renovate an investment property in Bali

Bali villa construction and refurbishment

This refurbishment project, 100 meters from Echo Beach, Bali turned a tired, dark 3-bedroom villa into a light, bright 4-bedroom property. Construct Bali enjoyed bringing a whole new lease of life to this luxury villa build.

The existing kitchen was opened up to the living room optimising the natural daylight and adding a sense of space. A freshening lick of paint and a new kitchen island finished the new look for this space. Outside old decking was replaced and inside the marble and granite refurbished, and the timber floors sanded and oiled.

Furthermore, the addition of a bedroom with a luxurious ensuite bathroom increased the property’s value. Renovating an investment property and extending the number of bedrooms is a great way to get a better return. If you are interested in renovating an existing villa or adding an extension, give us a call to find out how.

The Garden Early Learning Centre

Project Description

Client:  The Garden Early Learning Centre
Location:   Berawa, Bali
Surface Area: 200 m2
Year Completed:   January 2018
Project Type: New commercial build in Bali

This new commercial project in Bali entailed erecting three brand new classrooms for the Garden Early Learning School within a limited and fixed time frame. Construct Bali had to be clean and quiet as the school still had to be open for their current pupils, and the new buildings had to be ready for a fresh intake of pupils joining in the new term.

The project consisted of groundwork, foundations, concrete structures, aluminium roofs, rendering, plastering, plumbing, electrics, a new well and septic tank, ceilings with gypsum, new toilets and bathrooms, storerooms, parquet flooring, aluminium windows and doors, and a new parking area. This new commercial build also required the delicate operation of moving of a Balinese temple and creating a duck house and a chicken coup. If you are thinking of extending or building commercial premises in Bali, give our team a call.
